Free Qantas Frequent Flyer Membership with Woolworths card

We have recently looked at the Woolworths Everyday Rewards Credit Card. Have a look here.

Now, there is another offer for free Qantas frequent flyer membership if you are an Everyday Rewards member. Go to the Everyday Rewards website and login. Under MY EVERYDAY REWARDS, click on Qantas Frequent Flyers to find ouy more. Usually Qantas frequent flyer membership costs $82.50. Makes me wonder why I ever paid for my membership.

You may want to consider whether the rewards through Qantas Frequent Flyers is better than those offered by Woolworths through the Everyday Rewards scheme.

FREE Delivery for Coles online

Coles is currently offering free delivery to Perth for a limited time. The prices online are a little more than in the shop but if you value convenience then this is a very good thing to try out. The orders need to be over $50 in order to get free delivery. I have also heard that they also throw in a few things free when you place your order for the first time as a "welcome surprise" (sorry I spoilt it for you).

There are some deals which you will receive in your email which are the same as the store deals but you just need to be quite price savvy if you are the type who doesn't like getting ripped off. Some people have complained that sometimes they get the order wrong and all that, but I am sure with an introductory service like this, you just need to let them know and they will compensate you for your "inconvenience" as online shopping in Perth is meant to be convenient.

Caltex ePumps Redefine Petrol Convenience

A handful of Caltex Woolworths petrol stations now offer the use of new epumps. You can use these epumps with an everyday money credit card, just by hovering your credit card over the sensor and then filling up your car. The cost of the fuel and the amount of money you saved with fuel discount will then be displayed on the LCD monitor in front of you and you are free to leave.

When you get home, you will notice that they have emailled you the receipt for your petrol purchase which makes reconciliation of expenses much easier.

Yes, you can pay for two cars at the same time so if you are feeling extra friendly, offer the 10c off discount to the guy lining up behind your pump :)

Just remember that the discount only works for Caltex epump service stations. Here is a list of WA epump stations:

Examining Woolworths Everyday Money Credit card

The Woolworths Everyday Money Credit card got my attention as it was offerin 10c / L off any purchase from epumps at Caltex Woolworths petrol stations but only till 30 June 2009. What got me to sign up was the extra $50 shopping card if you applied and used your card before 30 April 2009.

Anyway, let's have a look at the rewards for this Everyday Money Card. The Terms and Conditions eventually tell you that you need to spend 3,448 points to get a $20 shopping voucher.

EDIT: The points program has changed in November 2011. Now it takes 4,000 points to earn the $20 shopping voucher.

How many points do you earn?

3 points for every dollar spent on Woolworths Select products purchased at Woolworths or Safeway Supermarkets, excluding online purchases

2 points for every dollar spent on other products purchased at Woolworths or Safeway Supermarkets, BIG W, CALTEX WOOLWORTHS/SAFEWAY co-branded fuel outlets, epump, Woolworths/Safeway Liquor, Dick Smith PowerHouse and participating Dick Smith Electronics and Tandy stores. (*)

1 point for every dollar spent on other products (*).

This translates into

$1 spent at non-Woolworths companies = 0.6c or 0.6% return in value  0.5c or 0.5% return in value
$1 spent at Woolworths affiliated companies = 1.2c or 1.2% return in value 1c or 1% return in value
